I've never been one of those guys...

who can just sit and watch interpretive images without a plot. Zeitgeist is interesting, slightly amateurish, and not hard on the eyes for all that, but I know there is a point I will probably have to watch the whole thing to get. I saw seven minutes, and it was no where near the point.

Re: I've never been one of those guys...

A director with a better sense of pacing could have cut half an hour out of it easily. There are 25-second stretches of blackness or transitioning. But there's a lot of good material in it -- it sounds like I'm kidding, but I'm actually serious when I say it picks up again around minute 9 (I think), and then kind of drones out again, then starts gaining ground again with some quick culture and history pointers -- comes and it goes, basically.

There are a few points where the psychology of the film seems to be veering dangerously close to foil-hat "23"-chasing schizo land, but it never quite goes all the way there, and the comparative religions info it presents for your digestion is nicely put together.

Germ told me to survive the art sequence before the Genetics kickoff in minute sevent. That was ust where I glazed off too.
